In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, The Arts Society has created a Society Forum which members may find
We are in the first year of a new branch of The Arts Society and are still welcoming new members. Despite the postponement of our remaining lectures for the 2019-20 programme, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we plan to start again in September 2020 with an interesting and varied programme of fascinating, illustrated lectures given by entertaining and knowledgeable professional speakers in comfortable surroundings. Annual members also receive The Arts Society quarterly magazine, along with an invitation to the Summer Social.
The lectures take place mostly on the 3rd Thursday each month at The Assembly Rooms, Chichester. Doors open and drinks are served from 6.00pm, with the lecture starting prompt at 6.30pm.
Previous lectures have included talks on the artist, John Piper; The Art of 1934; How Napier, New Zealand, became the Art Deco capital of the world and The Great British Paint-Off between Turner and Constable.
